Nascar driver AJ Allmendinger was charged early Thursday morning with drunken driving.  A police report states he was pulled over at 1:27 am. in Mooresville, North Carolina in his 2007 Lexus and blew a .08 on a breathalyzer test.

His court date is set for December 18, 2009, what he will plea has not been made public as of this post.  Nascar stated Thursday afternoon that AJ Allmendinger will be placed on probation until December 31, 2009 stemming from this DUI charge.

He will be at the Talladega Super Speedway for this weeks Nascar event, driving for RPM in the #44 car.  Next year he is slated to be moved into the #43 car which will be sponsored full time by Best Buy.
